Another wave of violence and murder swept through Chicago this weekend, with at least five dead by Sunday afternoon.

At least five murders and ten shooting-related injuries had been reported as of 2:08 pm ET.

Several teens as young as 15 years old were injured. One 19-year-old and one 16-year-old were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Per CBS News:

At least five people have been killed and 10 others have been wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago.

The ages of the victims range from 15 to 44.

In the first shooting of the weekend, a 32-year-old employee of a business in the South Loop got into an argument with a 31-year-old man in the 1300 block of South Michigan Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

This included at least two shooting incidents on Friday, starting at 9:30 pm local time, seven on Saturday, starting at approximately 1 am, and five on Sunday, starting shortly after midnight.

In nearly all cases, nobody was taken into custody.

This comes after 58 people were shot in Chicago last weekend, leaving eight dead.

The weekend before, at least six people were killed and 27 were injured, with victims as young as five years old, in shootings.

The Trump Administration has been planning federal law enforcement operations and potential National Guard deployment in the Windy City, citing the violent crime crisis.

It was recently revealed that 200 or more Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials would be deployed in the sanctuary city of Chicago to carry out deportations. The National Guard may also be deployed as a deterrent to rioters and criminals.

President Trump pointed to the data from the last two weekends and shredded a reporter at the White House earlier, when asked why he was targeting Chicago with law enforcement actions.

"Excuse me, do you know how many people were killed in Chicago last weekend? Eight. You know how many people were killed in Chicago the week before? Seven," he said. "You know how many people were wounded? 74 people were wounded. You think there’s worse than that? I don’t think so."

JUST IN: African Charity Sentebale Sues Estranged Founder Prince Harry for Libel

Harry and Sentebale’s chairwoman Sophie Chandauka: lawsuit

An African headache for the self-exiled British Royal.

Twenty years ago, British Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho co-founded a Charity in Africa called Sentebale.

For Harry, it was reportedly a way to honor his late mother, Princess Diana, and help young people with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.

Harry and Chandauka in happier times

In early 2025, Harry quit his role as a patron for the charity, following high-profile mudslinging in the press, in which he was accused of ‘bullying and harassing’ Sentebale’s chair of the board, Sophie Chandauka.

Now, it arises that Sentebale is suing Harry for libel ‌at the High Court in London.

Reuters reported:

“According to a record made public on Friday, Sentebale lodged a defamation claim last month at the High Court against Harry and one of his close friends Mark Dyer, who was also a trustee of the charity.

There were no details as to what the lawsuit involved. Neither Harry’s spokesperson nor the charity immediately responded ‌to a request for comment.”

UK’s Charity Commission investigated Sentebale

Chandauka reported Harry and the trustees to Britain’s charity regulator ‘for alleged bullying and harassment’.

“After a review, the Charity Commission reported it had found no evidence of bullying, but said there had been weak governance and criticized all parties for allowing an internal dispute to become public.”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman

A man threw a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s San Francisco home on Friday morning.

The suspect was taken into custody.

Nobody was hurt.

According to OpenAI, the male suspect also made threats outside of its San Francisco headquarters very early Friday morning.

The suspect has not been identified.

Sam Altman has not released a statement on the incident.

NBC News reported:

San Francisco police early Friday arrested a person who allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman’s home and made threats outside the AI giant’s San Francisco headquarters, the company said in a statement.

“Thankfully, no one was hurt,” OpenAI said.

“We deeply appreciate how quickly SFPD responded and the support from the city in helping keep our employees safe. The individual is in custody, and we’re assisting law enforcement with their investigation,” the company added.

Altman has not publicly addressed the arrest.

In a separate statement, the San Francisco Police Department said officers responded to a home in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco around 4:12 a.m. PT Friday “regarding a fire investigation.”

The officers learned that an unknown man had thrown “an incendiary destructive device at a home, causing a fire to an exterior gate,” police said.

The suspect fled on foot, and his description was broadcast to all officers.

MUST WATCH: Senate Republicans Move to Lock in Full ICE and CBP Funding for Trump’s Entire Term by Bypassing Democrats Entirely

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso discusses Republican plans to address a potential DHS shutdown during a live broadcast from Capitol Hill.

Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso discusses Republican plans to address a potential DHS shutdown during a live broadcast from Capitol Hill.

Senate Republicans are advancing a plan to fully fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term through budget reconciliation, a move that would require only a simple majority of 50 Republican votes plus Vice President JD Vance.

This means funding for the agencies will become immune to Democrat filibusters or shutdown threats.

The announcement came Thursday from Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, who confirmed he and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham will meet with President Trump at the White House on Friday to finalize the framework.

Barrasso told Fox News, “I’ll be at the White House with Lindsey Graham…we’re going to be talking with the president specifically about funding ICE, Immigration Custom Enforcement, funding the Department of Homeland Security’s Border Patrol, and doing it not just for this year, but through the entire time that President Trump is still in the White House, and doing it with Republican votes alone.”

WATCH:

The plan uses the budget reconciliation process, which allows certain fiscal measures to pass with 51 votes in the Senate (or 50 plus the vice president) and bypass the 60-vote filibuster threshold.

Republicans aim to narrowly target funding for immigration enforcement agencies, as there are ongoing disputes over the broader Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding package.

The move follows weeks of deadlock over DHS appropriations from Democrats.

A partial DHS shutdown has dragged on for nearly two months, with Democrats refusing to support full funding for ICE and CBP without concessions on immigration policy.

Senate Republicans have repeatedly blocked Democrat attempts to fund most of DHS while excluding or limiting enforcement operations.

Barrasso emphasized that Democrats “aren’t interested in funding national security,” forcing Republicans to “go it alone” through reconciliation.

The plan would secure long-term funding for deportations, border security, and interior enforcement, which are all priorities of the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda.

Barrasso did not specify a timeline for a floor vote, but GOP leaders will likely move quickly after the White House meeting.

The Gateway Pundit will continue tracking developments from the Senate Budget Committee and the White House.
