Havana is moving.

As the US ramps up the pressure on the Caribbean island, the Cuban communist dictatorship announced that it has freed more than 2,000 ‌prisoners.

It’s the second prisoner amnesty this year alone, amid talks with the US administration of Donald J. Trump.

Reuters reported:

“Cuba’s state-run Granma newspaper called the measure a ‘humanitarian and sovereign gesture’.

The Cuban government has consistently rejected any suggestion it makes decisions under U.S. pressure. The timing of Thursday’s announcement, however, coincides with the most intense pressure campaign applied by Washington in decades.”

“The decision to free 2,010 prisoners “stemmed from a careful analysis of the crimes committed by those convicted, their good conduct in prison, the fact that they had served a significant portion of their sentence, and their state of health’, state media said.”

Murderers, drug-related felons, and pedophiles were excluded from the release.

“It was unclear how many of the prisoners subject to release following Thursday’s announcement have been held on charges related to anti-government protests. Many high-profile dissidents, and some protesters from island-wide July 11 protests, have been freed in recent agreements and amnesties announced by the Cuban government.”

Associated Press reported:

“Cuba’s government denies holding political prisoners, but the activist group Prisoners Defended registered 1,214 people imprisoned for political reasons in Cuba as of February.

[…] The release comes as the Trump administration has placed extreme pressure on Cuba’s government.”

Last month, Cuba released 51 people from the island’s prisons in an unexpected move negotiated with the Vatican.

Democrat Suzanna Karatassos, who is running for the Georgia House of Representatives, has floated an idea to ‘punish’ MAGA.

Karatassos shared a video suggesting banning internet access for those who voted for Donald Trump.

“When this is all over, and Trump’s gone and Democrats are back in charge, and we’re rebuilding everything,” she said in the now-deleted TikTok video posted in January.

“The punishment for MAGA for voting for Trump three times needs to be that they remove their internet access for four years.”

“That they cannot post videos or comments on social media for four straight years, so that none of us are subjected to their lies and misinformation while we are rebuilding the chaos that they caused the whole world and America gets to be without their B.S. online for 4 straight years.”

“Can we all agree to this?”

Watch:

As is typical when Democrats say the quiet part out loud and don’t have the self-awareness to realize how authoritarian they sound, Karatassos claims her video was a “joke” because it is hilarious to parrot the language used by dictators to silence the opposition.

Social media users slammed Karatassos with one noting, “The party that screams ‘No Kings’ and ‘Free Speech’ wants to SILENCE yours.”

Another points out that Karatassos is running in the same district where Laken Riley was brutally murdered by an illegal and she wants to silence those still in mourning.

“They scream about ‘democracy’ and ‘free speech’ when it suits them, but the second they think they can get away with it, they want to shut down half the country for daring to vote against their socialist agenda.”

“No trial, no crime, just pure political revenge against patriots who support Trump and want America First.”

From Karatassos’ campaign website, “I am a wife and mother in Georgia, almost all of my family lives here. I want to see Georgia thrive and for all our citizens to be able to lead a life of prosperity with dignity.”

“What is happening in our country at a federal level is unprecedented and I realized I can’t do anything about that, but I
can help protect our State from it.”

“Helping to flip the Georgia Legislature Blue is what I can offer.”

That and, of course, silencing those who disagree with her.

SHIELD OF THE AMERICAS: Ecuador’s Noboa Says US Troops Are Welcome To Help Fight Drug Cartels (VIDEO)

Ecuador’s president, Daniel Noboa

The Western Hemisphere is getting more secure by the day.

The new anti-Cartel alliance put forward by US President Donald J. Trump is starting to change the landscape in Latin America, once forgotten by feeble Joe Biden, and left to be infiltrated by Russia, China, and Iran.

But now, action against these criminal drug networks is ongoing, stronger than ever.

As a clear example, we have Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa saying he would welcome US troops to help confront the ‘security crisis’ in his nation.

Bloomberg reported:

“The US has already helped Ecuador target criminal gangs with its advanced tracking and intelligence technology, Noboa said in an interview. He would be in favor of even more involvement from the administration of President Donald Trump, who he said shares his concern with combating drug trafficking.

‘It’s not an invasion, it’s not a — not an intruder coming into our country’, Noboa said Tuesday, speaking at his home overlooking the Guayas River in the gang-ridden port city of Guayaquil. ‘It’s actually international collaboration against crime’.”

Noboa predicted a US troop deployment happening as early as this year.

“With US help, he said that his government had succeeded in slashing the homicide rate in the violent region near the Colombian border. Government data shows a near 35% year-over-year decline in violent crime in those hot spots during the first quarter of this year.”

“Noboa is one of Trump’s closest allies in Latin America, who has deepened security ties with Washington and taken a similarly confrontational approach both to drug cartels and to trade and diplomacy. In March, Ecuador carried out military actions using US intelligence to target groups they labeled terrorist.”
