Marc Anthony Is Singing Songs He’s ‘Never Performed Live’ for His Las Vegas Residency

Published

When Marc Anthony kicks off his first-ever Las Vegas residency Friday (Feb. 13), he’ll be “singing songs I’ve never performed live because I haven’t been able to,” he tells Billboard. “It’s duets, it’s English, it’s ballads, it’s salsa. All No. 1s, all songs people have embraced over the years that I haven’t been able to perform live. And it’s more intimate, more storytelling.”

By his own account, Marc Anthony has played more than 10,000 shows in his lifetime. But this time, “I’m mounting a show I’ve never seen before, a show I’ve never done before, with this combination of songs. It’s a challenge, but I’m really looking forward to it.”

Marc Anthony: Vegas…My Way! at the BleauLive Theater at the Fontainebleau will play for five days in February, then returns for an additional three days in the summer as a prelude to a 100-date stint in 2027. The show marks the first time Marc Anthony, one of Latin music’s most successful and prolific touring acts, has a residency anywhere.

“I’m over the moon,” he says, revealing that the repertoire will include a lot duets, with for which many of those featured acts recorded special videos tailored for the residency.

“The Malumas of the world, India, ‘La Gozadera’ [with Gente De Zona],” he adds, rattling off song titles. “It will be a coming together of songs that have changed my life; songs in English like ‘You Sang to Me,’ ‘I Need to Know.’ I threw everything in the bucket that I always wanted to do.”

Marc Anthony has long been courted for a Las Vegas residency, as much for his star power, as for his long history with the city and with the icons associated with it, including Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. But he never seriously considered the option until he met Jeffrey Soffer, the chairman and chief executive officer of Fontainebleau Development, who invited him to stay at the hotel.

“When I saw what Jeff Soffer did here — it’s six stars, brand new, brand new theater. … Plus, his father was friends with Frank Sinatra. This is what Vegas should be,” says Marc Anthony.

His fans will be able to see the star, who usually plays arenas and stadiums, in a completely different, intimate setup. Regardless, as ever, the star will be Marc Anthony’s voice and his incredibly tight band. So tight, in fact, that to date, the singer admits he still doesn’t warm up, or do sound checks.

“I just have a beer and a cigarette. Just give me a microphone and I’ll figure it out,” he chuckles. “You never know what’s going to happen that night. After doing more than 10,000 concerts, it’s all about staying on your toes and telling a story. One song she broke his heart, then the next they’re getting married. It’s about telling those stories and being in the moment.”

Friday Dance Music Guide: New Tracks From Of the Trees, DJ Minx & More

Published

By

This week in dance music: Avicii’s country/EDM crossover classic “Wake Me Up” became just one of 51 songs to reach three billion streams on YouTube, Diplo talked about working with BTS on their comeback album Arirang and SoundCloud’s new Music Intelligence Report found electronic music to be a key genre on the platform, citing it as its fastest growing genre.

As reported by Billboard earlier this week, the reports notes that “in 2020, roughly one in four tracks uploaded to SoundCloud was in an electronic genre. In 2025, it was more than one in three. Last year, the number of uploads hashtagged “#DJSET” also increased 39% year over year. Altogether, these uploads made electronic music SoundCloud’s fastest-growing genre in the U.S., where it accounted for ‘a greater percentage of all listening for the third year running.'” The report found that dubstep in particular is surging on the streamer, with producers Levity, Tape B and more leading this charge.

Meanwhile, Femme House announced that it’s bringing back its Femmy Awards next mont in Miami. The event’s second year will award special honors to Anja Schneider, Ultra Naté, Tokimonsta and John Summit. Deadmau5 released a statement after a deepfake video of him appearing to endorse another artist’s music was posted online and Subtronics and John Summit both implored Casey Wasserman, the CEO of their agency Wasserman, to step down after newly released files revealed Wasserman’s close relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell.

On a vastly lighter note, these are the best new dance tracks of the week.

Kylie Minogue’s track “Padam Padam” became a hit when it was released 2023, reaching No. 7 on Billboard‘s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay.

The anthem-esque single and its funky dance-pop beat offered the Australian singer’s career a major boost, reinvigorating love for the artist all across the globe. Minogue has always held a major spot in the dance genre since her start in the 1980s with hits such as “The Loco-Motion” (1988), “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (2002) and “I Believe in You” (2004).

“Padam Padam” also won Minogue a Grammy for best pop dance recording in 2024, solidifying her icon status. Speaking of icon status, Minogue was just given a signature Barbie doll inspired by the aforementioned track and her career. The Mattel creation is currently available for pre-order for $59.40 on Amazon and $54.97 at Walmart, and will officially launch on March 27.

This is a posable doll from Mattel inspired by Minogue’s hit 2023 track “Padam Padam.” The single reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart and No. 7 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

The doll is dressed in a bright red look, down to her dolly shoes, inspired by the star’s outfit in the music video. The look in question is a sleek Mugler bodysuit and lace-up Maison Ernest boots. The bodysuit is affixed with a billowing cape. The doll also features a coordinating bright lip and scarlet streaks in her hair to match the fiery red ensemble. This doll makes an amazing present and keepsake for fans of Minogue. It’s a unique offering that can be displayed beside her records to tie the collections together.

This isn’t the first time Mattel has crafted a doll for a musician. In the brand’s Signature Music Series, it released dolls modeled after Stevie Nicks, Mariah Carey, Elton John, David Bowie, Tina Turner, Cher, Aaliyah, Gloria Estefan and Elvis Presley. Every doll is created based on a certain era of the singer’s life, usually an important or historic moment in their careers. The gothic and witchy Nicks dolls that Mattel has released have done exceedingly well, selling out within hours of launching.

Posters began popping up around Toronto earlier this week, hinting at a partnership between OVO and McDonald’s. The famed OVO owl meshed with the McDonald’s logo, along with the phrase “Where the Night Owls Lands” beneath it, which got fans’ minds churning.

McDonald’s Canada appeared to confirm that a collaboration is in the works when posting a teaser clip to social media on Wednesday (Feb. 11), while setting a launch date of Feb. 17 for the partnership.

It’s unclear exactly what the collab would entail, but the Golden Arches have teamed up with plenty of celebrities in the past to give them their own customized limited-edition meal. The list includes Travis Scott, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey, BTS, Cardi B, Offset, Saweetie and J Balvin.

Billboard has reached out to reps for McDonald’s and Drake for comment.

Drake has been spotted by fans picking up some McDonald’s at times during his career. According to TMZ, he even served up some McDonald’s meals following a concert with Migos at a West Hollywood afterparty in 2018.

On the music side, Drake has continued to tease his forthcoming Iceman album, but the project remains without a release date.

Drizzy’s pockets are also a tad lighter after losing a $1 million bet on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, who were throttled by the Seattle Seahawks 29-13.
