SEND IN THE TROOPS! At Least 5 Dead, 10 Wounded So Far in Chicago Weekend Shootings

Another wave of violence and murder swept through Chicago this weekend, with at least five dead by Sunday afternoon.
At least five murders and ten shooting-related injuries had been reported as of 2:08 pm ET.
Several teens as young as 15 years old were injured. One 19-year-old and one 16-year-old were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Per CBS News:
At least five people have been killed and 10 others have been wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago.
The ages of the victims range from 15 to 44.
In the first shooting of the weekend, a 32-year-old employee of a business in the South Loop got into an argument with a 31-year-old man in the 1300 block of South Michigan Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
This included at least two shooting incidents on Friday, starting at 9:30 pm local time, seven on Saturday, starting at approximately 1 am, and five on Sunday, starting shortly after midnight.
In nearly all cases, nobody was taken into custody.
This comes after 58 people were shot in Chicago last weekend, leaving eight dead.
The weekend before, at least six people were killed and 27 were injured, with victims as young as five years old, in shootings.
The Trump Administration has been planning federal law enforcement operations and potential National Guard deployment in the Windy City, citing the violent crime crisis.
It was recently revealed that 200 or more Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials would be deployed in the sanctuary city of Chicago to carry out deportations. The National Guard may also be deployed as a deterrent to rioters and criminals.
President Trump pointed to the data from the last two weekends and shredded a reporter at the White House earlier, when asked why he was targeting Chicago with law enforcement actions.

"Excuse me, do you know how many people were killed in Chicago last weekend? Eight. You know how many people were killed in Chicago the week before? Seven," he said. "You know how many people were wounded? 74 people were wounded. You think there’s worse than that? I don’t think so."

Loyola University Campus Newspaper Apologizes for Calling Murder Suspect an ‘Illegal Immigrant’ Instead of “Rogers Park Resident”

Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman
Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich joined Laura Ingraham on Fox News to discuss the tragic and preventable murder of 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman.
Early in the morning on Thursday of last week, 18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed near the Chicago campus by one of Joe Biden’s illegals.
The masked gunman approached a group of students walking in the Rogers Park neighborhood and opened fire, shooting Gorman in the head. She died at the scene.
On Sunday, it was confirmed that the masked gunman who killed Gorman is a 25-year-old illegal alien from Venezuela who entered the US under the Biden Regime. Police took Jose Medina-Medina into custody.
In its coverage of the tragedy, Loyola’s campus newspaper, The Phoenix, has caved to the woke mob by changing wording in the coverage of the murder of one of its own to placate the left’s agenda.
While originally referring to Medina as an illegal immigrant, they edited the post to frame him as a “Rogers Park Resident.”
The College Fix reports:
Campus newspaper The Phoenix originally reported on the charges with an Instagram post titled: “Immigrant Man Charged in Murder of Sheridan Gorman, DHS Involved.”
The original post also referred to Medina as an “illegal immigrant.”
However, facing backlash, the student newspaper edited the post to remove the term “illegal immigrant.” The newspaper refers to Medina as a “Rogers Park Resident,” referring to the Chicago neighborhood where Loyola’s main campus is located.
An editor’s note was added to the original story, which spent almost as much time bemoaning the “harm” of calling the alleged murderer what he is than spent on the tragic death of a young woman just beginning her life.
Editor’s Note:
On March 23, a post on The Phoenix’s Instagram page carried the following headline: “Immigrant Man Charged in Murder of Sheridan Gorman, DHS Involved.”
That headline didn’t reflect the most important elements in the story, and it was taken down minutes later to prevent any further harm to affected community members.
Additionally, in the body of the original post, we described the man who was charged as an “illegal immigrant,” using language provided by the Department of Homeland Security. That language does not align with Associated Press style, nor does it align with the values of this newspaper.
No human’s existence is illegal, and we quickly changed our wording to reflect that.
We acknowledge the harm such language can cause and the power and importance of the words we choose to use. We deeply regret these errors, and we’re committed to continuing the high standards we hold for ourselves as journalists and members of the Loyola, Rogers Park and Chicago communities.

NPR Public Editor Forced to Admit: Important Jewish Voices Were Exluded in Synagogue Attack Coverage

In March, The Gateway Pundit reported that a driver plowed a vehicle into Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, with more than 100 children in the building, and opened fire.
The synagogue attacker was identified as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a Lebanese national who first entered the U.S. in 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen.
Ghazali was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the US in 2011. He became a naturalized US citizen in February 2016 under the Obama Administration.
Where was National Public Radio (NPR) reporter Hadeel al-Shalchi following the attack? Not at the synagogue.
Instead, two days later, al-Shalchi was 6,000 miles away in the Ghazali family’s hometown of Mashghara, Lebanon, interviewing the terrorist’s relatives for a March 14 segment touting the headline, ‘In a small Lebanese town, grief and fear follow Michigan synagogue attack.’
Journalist Batya Ungar-Sargon noted, “NPR found the real victim of an attack on 140 Jewish American babies—and it’s the Hezbollah-infested town in Lebanon that raised a family of terrorists.”
After reviewing the coverage, public editor Sarah McBride noted that she did not find NPR stories quoting rabbis, congregation members, or families of children who fled the building in the liberal outlet’s coverage.
McBride wrote:
NPR ran multiple stories on the attack.
In all of that coverage, voices from Temple Israel are absent.
I couldn’t find any stories that quote rabbis, congregation members or the families of the children who had to flee the building. This story quoted a rabbi from a nearby congregation. A story on NPR’s website linked to a Facebook post from Temple Israel declaring that all the children and staff were safe. The Detroit News attended Shabbat services the next day, which had to be held in another location.
A story like that would have been the perfect opportunity to examine to community’s response to the terrifying attack. NPR or Michigan Public Radio pulled away from the story at Temple Israel too soon.
When important voices are missing from coverage, it distorts the audience’s perception of everything else.
The biased coverage is a prime example of why President Trump signed a sweeping executive order defunding National Public Radio (NPR) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which continue to be an apparatus of the Democrats’ taxpayer-funded leftist propaganda machines.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the president previously called on Congress to defund the absurdly dishonest “news” organizations following a House Oversight DOGE subcommittee hearing, which exposed the stations’ already well-known bias and radical content.
