SEND IN THE TROOPS! At Least 5 Dead, 10 Wounded So Far in Chicago Weekend Shootings

Another wave of violence and murder swept through Chicago this weekend, with at least five dead by Sunday afternoon.
At least five murders and ten shooting-related injuries had been reported as of 2:08 pm ET.
Several teens as young as 15 years old were injured. One 19-year-old and one 16-year-old were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Per CBS News:
At least five people have been killed and 10 others have been wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago.
The ages of the victims range from 15 to 44.
In the first shooting of the weekend, a 32-year-old employee of a business in the South Loop got into an argument with a 31-year-old man in the 1300 block of South Michigan Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
This included at least two shooting incidents on Friday, starting at 9:30 pm local time, seven on Saturday, starting at approximately 1 am, and five on Sunday, starting shortly after midnight.
In nearly all cases, nobody was taken into custody.
This comes after 58 people were shot in Chicago last weekend, leaving eight dead.
The weekend before, at least six people were killed and 27 were injured, with victims as young as five years old, in shootings.
The Trump Administration has been planning federal law enforcement operations and potential National Guard deployment in the Windy City, citing the violent crime crisis.
It was recently revealed that 200 or more Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials would be deployed in the sanctuary city of Chicago to carry out deportations. The National Guard may also be deployed as a deterrent to rioters and criminals.
President Trump pointed to the data from the last two weekends and shredded a reporter at the White House earlier, when asked why he was targeting Chicago with law enforcement actions.

"Excuse me, do you know how many people were killed in Chicago last weekend? Eight. You know how many people were killed in Chicago the week before? Seven," he said. "You know how many people were wounded? 74 people were wounded. You think there’s worse than that? I don’t think so."

Federal charges against Moreno-Gama will be filed today.
Fox News is also reported that Moreno-Gama’s attack was driven by “anti-AI views.”

Trump RESPONDS to Backlash After Posting a Christ-Like Image: “I Thought It Was Me as a Doctor”

President Donald Trump is once again taking heat from the media and even some allies after posting an AI-generated image that critics rushed to label “blasphemous.”
The controversy erupted after Trump shared an image on Truth Social depicting himself in flowing robes, appearing to heal a man, imagery that many in the media immediately framed as “Christ-like.”
The since-deleted image was shared on Orthodox Easter Sunday right after Trump torched the weak-on-crime, America-bashing Pope Leo XIV for criticizing U.S. and Israeli policy in Iran.

Riley Gaines, a vocal supporter of Trump wrote on X:
“Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this. Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this? Either way, two things are true. 1) a little humility would serve him well 2) God shall not be mocked”

Either way, two things are true.
1) a little humility would serve him well
2) God shall not be mocked https://t.co/GViHqWeDEr— Riley Gaines (@Riley_Gaines_) April 13, 2026
When asked by reporters about the post and the backlash, Trump responded:
Reporter:
Mr. President, did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ?Trump:
Well, it wasn’t depicted—it was me. I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with the Red Cross, as a Red Cross worker there, which we support. And only the fake news could come up with that one. So I had—I just heard about it, and I said, “How did they come up with that?” It’s supposed to be me as a doctor making people better. And I do make people better—I make people a lot better.

President Trump Fires 6 More Immigration Judges For Blocking Deportations

President Trump fired six more immigration judges for blocking deportations.
On Friday, the president fired four immigration judges and continued his spree of firings on Saturday and fired two more.
According to The New York Times, Trump fired two of the immigration judges on Saturday for blocking the deportations of two pro-Palestinian activists.
Exclusive: The Trump administration has fired two immigration judges who blocked the deportations of Rumeysa Ozturk and Mohsen Mahdawi, two int’l students who expressed pro-Palestinian views. Four other judges were fired on Friday too.

In December, President Trump fired eight immigration judges in New York City.
A fired immigration judge described the firings as a “Monday afternoon massacre.”
“The court has been eviscerated,” Olivia Cassin, another immigration judge who was fired in November told The New York Times. “It feels like a Monday afternoon massacre.”
More than 100 immigration judges have been fired or resigned since President Trump took office this year.
In July, 20 immigration judges were fired.
A few of the federal immigration judges recently fired by the Trump Administration over e-mail lashed out at Trump in an interview with CBS Evening News.
Three of the fired judges – George Pappas, Jennifer Peyton and Carla Espinoza – spoke to CBS about their terminations. The disgruntled judges claimed they were politically pressured by the Trump Administration to grant motions to dismiss cases.
“It was arbitrary, unfair,” George Pappas told CBS News of his abrupt firing. “And it’s an attack on the rule of law. It’s an attack on judges.”
“My email was three sentences,” Jennifer Peyton whined. “I had no cause. I had no explanation.”
“We as judges, were in fear, we were concerned,” Carla Espinoza said. “That makes it very difficult to be impartial. We were not succumbing to that pressure but it does feel like pressure.”
Payton whined that once the illegal alien left the courtroom, ICE would handcuff them and whisk them away.
