Conservative Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was rushed to a hospital last month after a Federalist Society dinner in Philadelphia, CNN reported.

Alito, who just turned 76, was treated for dehydration after he fell ill (food poisoning?).

Details about the medical emergency were not disclosed.

In the two weeks since the medical incident, Samuel Alito has been on the bench and has attended oral arguments.

“Out of an abundance of caution, he agreed with his security detail’s recommendation to see a physician before the three-hour drive home,” the Supreme Court said in a statement, The Hill reported.

“After that examination and the administration of fluids for dehydration, he returned home that night, as previously planned,” the high court said.

CNN reported:

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was taken to a hospital after becoming ill last month at a Federalist Society dinner in Philadelphia, according to people with knowledge of the March 20 incident.

The justice was evaluated and administered fluids for dehydration. He returned to his home in Virginia that night with his security team.

Alito and Supreme Court public information officials declined to comment for the record about the episode, which has not been previously reported.

In the two weeks since the incident, Alito has attended oral arguments and appeared healthy during the usual give-and-take with lawyers at the lectern.

Alito, who turned 76 on Wednesday and has served as a justice for 20 years, has become the subject of widespread speculation from commentators across the ideological spectrum and the news media over whether he might retire. (He has refused to answer journalists’ questions on the subject.)

Fox News also confirmed the Alito report.

Fox News reported:

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was treated for dehydration at a hospital after a previously undisclosed March 20 incident in Philadelphia, sources told Fox News.

He was not admitted and returned home the same night without complications.

Alito, 76, attended a Federalist Society dinner that evening and reported feeling lightheaded, prompting his security detail to recommend a precautionary hospital visit. Sources said the justice has had no issues since.

An ICE agent saved a baby’s life in a TSA line at New York’s JFK Airport on Wednesday.

The Democrats have repeatedly voted to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security and TSA.

Major airports across the US are experiencing delays due to TSA staffing issues.

President Trump deployed ICE agents to airports across the country to help travelers swiftly get through security lines after Democrats blocked funding for the Department of Homeland Security.

One of the ICE agents deployed to JFK saved a baby’s life.

An infant was unresponsive and wasn’t breathing when an ICE agent jumped into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver on the baby.

“DHS tells Fox News that an ICE agent saved the life of a 1-year-old boy who had gone unresponsive and wasn’t breathing while waiting in a TSA line at JFK airport yesterday.

Full statement from the DHS:

At JFK Airport, as travelers waited in hours-long lines, an infant became unresponsive and stopped breathing. The panic of the child’s family and nearby passengers were heard by an ICE agent stationed at a checkpoint.

This heroic officer immediately sprang into action—rushing toward the cries, taking the child, and performing a Heimlich maneuver that restored the infant’s breathing after nearly two minutes.

This officer’s extraordinary bravery embodies the selfless service of DHS law enforcement.

Video released by the DHS shows the agent running to help the baby.

‘The Era of Deportations Has Begun’: EU Parliament Approves Member Countries Setting up Return Hubs Outside the EU To Send Failed ‘Asylum Seekers’

What was once a ‘far-right’ idea is now a common-sense policy for Europe.

First, it was Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni with her Albania plan, followed by former British PM Rishi Sunak with his ‘Rwanda plan’ – both blocked by activist judges because of the insane EU asylum legislation.

But today (26), after years of constant growth of right-wing parties across the old continent, things are changing for real, as European lawmakers voted to authorize the setting up of migrant detention centers outside the European Union, known as ‘return hubs’.

Associated Press reported:

“Members of the European Parliament voted 389-206 in favor, with 32 abstentions. Right-wing parties made an alliance with far-right groups that they had previously shunned to pass the measure, while parties of the left and center voted against.

Any EU nation can now negotiate on its own or in small coalitions to deport migrants not to their home countries but to facilities yet to be built outside the 27-nation bloc.”

“Already, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, and Denmark have entered into negotiations with governments mainly in Africa to host sites to hold migrants denied asylum.

[…] Charlie Weimers, a lawmaker from the right-wing Sweden Democrats: ‘There is a new consensus in Europe. The era of deportations has begun’, he said in a social media post.”

Euronews reported:

“The law will also increase the legal detention period to up to two years and impose practically unlimited entry bans in the EU on the returned people.

The final version of the law will now be discussed between the Parliament and EU member states. The negotiation is expected to be smooth, as there are no substantial differences between the two texts.

Both MEPs and EU countries want to include in the deportations to third countries families with children, excluding from the provision only the unaccompanied minors.”

The US and Russia are rebuilding ties.

On the one hand, the US supports Ukraine against Russia in their 4-year war, while Russia supports Iran against the US in their recent military confrontation.

But on the other hand, the United States and the Russian Federation have been engaged in a difficult but potentially rewarding détente.

Reuters reported:

“A delegation of Russian lawmakers has arrived in the United States for meetings with U.S. lawmakers, Russian media said, on the first such trip since relations between the world’s two biggest ‌nuclear powers hit rock bottom over the war in Ukraine.”

After the start of the war in Ukraine, US-Russian relations deteriorated to the worst level in history, but after the return of Donald J. Trump, the ties have improved considerably.

“The lawmakers’ visit to the United States, first reported by Russia’s Vedomosti newspaper, includes Vyacheslav Nikonov, a lawmaker who is the grandson of Josef Stalin’s foreign minister, Vyacheslav Molotov, according to Russian media reports.”

The Russian lawmakers met US lawmakers today and are expected to meet US officials tomorrow.

“The visit is ‘part of the normalization of relations with the United States of America’, Alexei Chepa, first deputy ‌chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, told Izvestia.”
