NEW: Justice Department Sues Minnesota for Allowing Boys in Girls’ Sports and Intimate Spaces

Tim Walz testifies in House Oversight Committee hearing – March 4, 2026
The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) on Monday, alleging sex-based discrimination by allowing boys to compete in girls’ sports and use girls’ locker rooms and bathrooms.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is a well-known advocate for these policies, and he infamously signed a 2023 law, directing all public schools to provide free menstrual products to all menstruating students, including trans students, in grades 4 to 12.
The 45-page lawsuit was filed in Minnesota federal court, arguing that the “unfair, intentionally discriminatory practice violates the very core of Title IX of the Education Amendments.”
“Title IX’s core purpose is to ensure that both boys and girls have equal educational opportunities. This includes protecting girls’ equal educational athletic opportunities by recognizing that boys have an inherent biological advantage in sports,” the filing reads, noting male and female athletes have “undeniable physiological differences.”
“But Minnesota casts this aside in favor of so-called “gender identity,” a choice that elevates ideology over biology, fairness, and safety. In open defiance of Title IX’s antidiscrimination protections, Minnesota’s policies and practices create unfair competition, deny girls equal educational opportunities, and expose girls to a hostile educational environment with heightened risks of physical injury and psychological harm.”
It further points to the over $3 billion in federal funding that the Minnesota Department of Education receives annually from the US Department of Education (USDOE), arguing that Minnesota has a duty to comply with USDOE’s regulations implementing Title IX.
The MDE also receives approximately $42.6 million annually from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and is required to comply with HHS’s regulations implementing Title IX
President Trump’s Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports executive order directs the USDOE to prioritize Title IX enforcement actions “against educational institutions (including athletic associations composed of or governed by such institutions) that deny female students an equal opportunity to participate in sports and athletic events by requiring them, in the women’s category, to compete with or against or to appear unclothed before males.”
The Department of Justice asked the court to block the state’s policy of abolishing sex-separated sports and intimate spaces, monitor their compliance with Title IX, and to compensate female athletes and correct girls’ athletic records that have been set by male athletes.
Attorney General Pam Bondi, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Education Secretary Linda McMahon issued statements on the lawsuit in a press release:
“The Trump Administration does not tolerate flawed state policies that ignore biological reality and unfairly undermine girls on the playing field,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “This Department of Justice is proud to partner with HHS and the Department of Education to protect our girls in Minnesota and across the country.”
“The Justice Department cannot ignore a state’s brazen defiance of federal antidiscrimination law,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “In service of radical gender ideology, Minnesota’s actions violate Title IX and deny female athletes their hard-earned trophies, records, dignity, and safety.”
“We will not allow girls to be denied equal opportunity and basic privacy,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “Title IX is clear: schools that accept federal funding must protect the rights, safety, and dignity of female students.”
“The Trump Administration will always fight for the safety and civil rights of women and girls,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon. “Minnesota’s policies allow men to dominate women’s sports, denying female athletes fair competition and eroding their right to equal access in educational programs and activities. Thank you to Attorney General Bondi for bringing this fight to the courts to hold Minnesota accountable.”
This is a developing story.

MUST WATCH: Senate Republicans Move to Lock in Full ICE and CBP Funding for Trump’s Entire Term by Bypassing Democrats Entirely

Senate Republicans are advancing a plan to fully fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the remainder of President Donald Trump’s term through budget reconciliation, a move that would require only a simple majority of 50 Republican votes plus Vice President JD Vance.
This means funding for the agencies will become immune to Democrat filibusters or shutdown threats.
The announcement came Thursday from Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, who confirmed he and Senate Budget Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham will meet with President Trump at the White House on Friday to finalize the framework.
Barrasso told Fox News, “I’ll be at the White House with Lindsey Graham…we’re going to be talking with the president specifically about funding ICE, Immigration Custom Enforcement, funding the Department of Homeland Security’s Border Patrol, and doing it not just for this year, but through the entire time that President Trump is still in the White House, and doing it with Republican votes alone.”

The plan uses the budget reconciliation process, which allows certain fiscal measures to pass with 51 votes in the Senate (or 50 plus the vice president) and bypass the 60-vote filibuster threshold.
Republicans aim to narrowly target funding for immigration enforcement agencies, as there are ongoing disputes over the broader Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding package.
The move follows weeks of deadlock over DHS appropriations from Democrats.
A partial DHS shutdown has dragged on for nearly two months, with Democrats refusing to support full funding for ICE and CBP without concessions on immigration policy.

Senate Republicans have repeatedly blocked Democrat attempts to fund most of DHS while excluding or limiting enforcement operations.
Barrasso emphasized that Democrats “aren’t interested in funding national security,” forcing Republicans to “go it alone” through reconciliation.
The plan would secure long-term funding for deportations, border security, and interior enforcement, which are all priorities of the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda.
Barrasso did not specify a timeline for a floor vote, but GOP leaders will likely move quickly after the White House meeting.
The Gateway Pundit will continue tracking developments from the Senate Budget Committee and the White House.

CRINGE: Kamala Harris Impersonates President Trump as a “Mob Boss” (VIDEO)

Kamala Harris on Friday impersonated President Trump as a “mob boss.”
Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Senator Mark Kelly, and other high-profile Democrats and possible 2028 presidential hopefuls were in New York attending the National Action Network convention.
The event is being hosted by Al Sharpton.
“Two years out, we’ll see some of the people that have been thinking of running, and they’ll see us,” Al Sharpton told Politico.
Harris signaled she may run for president again.
Al Sharpton asked Kamala Harris if she would run for president in 2028 after she got trounced by President Trump in 2024.
“Listen. I might. I’m thinking about it,” Harris said.
“Let me also say this, I served for four years being a heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States,” she said. “I know what the job is, and I know what it requires.”
Harris continued on with her word salad.
“Look, the American people have the right to expect that anyone who wants to run for office and be a leader, that it can’t be about themselves and what they want for themselves has to be about the American people,” Kamala said.
“And that’s how I think of it and I am thinking about it in the context of… who and where and how can the best job be done for the American people?” she said.
“I’ll keep you posted,” Kamala added.
Kamala Harris then impersonated Trump as a “mob boss” as she criticized his foreign policy.
“And then he, Rev, kinda acts like a mob boss. So then he’s kind of like, ‘well, you know. You take Eastern Europe and I’ll take the Western Hemisphere and then you over there, you get Asia. And we’ll just divide it up,'” she said.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Is Appealing His Criminal Conviction and Sentencing – But Panel Judges Seem Skeptical of His Argument

Diddy is appealing his conviction and sentence
Diddy is hopeful, but the judges appear unconvinced.
Around 10 months ago, disgraced hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was sentenced to a 50-month prison sentence.
Today, his lawyers presented his plea before an Appeals court, questioning both his conviction for ‘transportation to engage in prostitution’ and his sentencing.

Reuters reported:
“A lawyer for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs said on Thursday judges should not be allowed to consider conduct relating to charges for which a defendant has been acquitted in determining a sentence, urging an appeals court to overturn the hip-hop mogul’s conviction on prostitution charges and his prison sentence.
‘This case presents an important issue about a respect for jury verdicts and public confidence in our criminal justice system’, defense lawyer Alexandra Shapiro told the Manhattan-based 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals during arguments in an appeal by Combs of his conviction and sentence of four years and two months in prison.”

He said the “exceptionally difficult case” “is a question of first impression, not only for this court, but apparently for any federal court of appeals in the country.” pic.twitter.com/GfHD0Fv54g

ABC News reported:
“A three-judge panel of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals appeared skeptical on Thursday of Sean Combs’ argument that his prison sentence should be reduced because the judge unlawfully punished Combs as if he had been found guilty of more serious crimes.”
[…] Combs is serving a four-year prison sentence, which defense attorney Alexandra Shapiro said treats him as if he had been convicted of the more serious counts. She urged the appeals court to reduce the sentence ‘to ensure that not guilty really means not guilty’.”

The appellate judges deemed it constitutional for judge Arun Subramanian to consider ‘all of Combs’ conduct in establishing a sentence’.
“’We have two women who were plied with drugs to participate in this, one of whom became an opioid addict, so doesn’t that support the reasonableness of this?’ Judge M. Miller Baker asked.”
Diddy’s lawyer Alexandra Shapiro: “The judge acknowledged that he had been acquitted. But that’s not enough. That’s just makeweight.”
Judge: “It’s a rather disparaging characterization, and I want to understand what you mean by it.”
“That’s not what I mean, just to be clear.” pic.twitter.com/rek2SPNH2R
